RSVP & Invitations
Formal invitations are expected to be sent in late summer/early fall so guests have plenty of time to make travel arrangements, reserve accommodations, and plan ahead for this very special celebration on the Amalfi Coast.
The RSVP deadline will be included with the formal invitation once invitations are sent. Because this is a destination wedding with multiple planned events, timely RSVPs will be especially helpful.
Yes, guests may begin planning before the formal invitation. Airfare, lodging, transportation, and dining reservations can vary in how far in advance they are available to book, but many begin opening around 10–12 months before your arrival. Positano in June is high season, so we recommend checking early and booking as soon as your preferred hotels, rentals, flights, drivers, and restaurants allow. Please visit the Travel, Transfers, and Stay pages for helpful planning information.
Please refer to the names that will be listed on your formal invitation and RSVP form. Due to venue capacity and planning requirements, we will only be able to accommodate the guests specifically included with your invitation.
We truly love your little ones, but due to the nature of the venue, the location, and the flow of the evening, the wedding celebration will not be a kid-friendly event. We kindly ask that you make arrangements so you can fully relax and enjoy the evening with us in Positano.
We will miss you! Once formal invitations are sent, please complete the RSVP form so we have an accurate count for all wedding events.

Please visit the Celebration page for the most up-to-date event schedule, times, locations, and details.
Because each event has its own flavor, please visit the Dress Code pages for the full details. The wedding website has two dedicated dress code sections with everything guests need to know, including the All White Welcome Party, the wedding day Black Tie Alla Positano attire, and the Prosecco, Pizza & Pool Party attire.
Travel to Positano
Most guests will fly into either Naples International Airport or Rome Fiumicino Airport. Naples is closer to Positano, while Rome may offer more direct international flight options.
Private transfer is the easiest and most recommended option, especially if you are traveling with luggage. Guests may also use trains, ferries, taxis, or a combination depending on where they are arriving from.
For detailed arrival and transportation options, please visit both the Arriving in Positano page and the Transfers page.
Yes, buses are available for certain routes to and around Positano, including options from Naples, Sorrento, and within Positano itself. However, bus travel on the Amalfi Coast can require extra planning because schedules, ticket options, luggage space, and seasonal availability may vary.
For detailed bus options, ticket guidance, and helpful notes for getting around, please visit the Transfers page before making plans.
We do not recommend renting a car if you are staying in Positano. Parking is limited, roads are narrow, and private transfers, ferries, taxis, and walking are usually much easier.
If you plan to rent a car or drive in Italy, you should obtain an International Driving Permit before your trip. An International Driving Permit translates your U.S. driver’s license information into multiple languages and should be carried with your valid U.S. driver’s license while driving abroad.
For U.S. travelers, International Driving Permits are issued through official authorized organizations, including AAA. You can apply through AAA here:
https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html
Please keep in mind that we generally do not recommend renting a car if you are staying in Positano. Parking is limited, roads are narrow, and private transfers, ferries, taxis, and walking are usually much easier.
Source note for accuracy: USAGov states that an International Driving Permit should be carried with your driver’s license when visiting another country and that AAA and AATA are the two official organizations authorized by the U.S. Department of State to issue IDPs.
Positano is breathtaking, but it is built into the cliffs, which means there are many stairs, hills, narrow walkways, and uneven surfaces. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended. There are also winding roads that may help guests avoid some stair routes depending on where they are staying.
Yes. If you are traveling from the United States to Italy, you will need a valid passport. Italy is part of the Schengen Area, which requires your passport to be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure date. However, six months of validity is strongly recommended to help avoid any travel issues, delays, or airline problems.
Please make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after the wedding date. If you do not currently have a passport, or if yours needs to be renewed, we recommend applying as soon as possible.
Uber is available in some larger Italian cities, such as Rome and Naples, but it is not as widely used or available the way it is in the United States. In smaller towns and along the Amalfi Coast, including Positano, Uber is generally not a reliable transportation option.
For travel to and from Positano, guests should plan ahead and use a pre-booked private driver, ferry, hotel-arranged transfer, or local taxi when available. Transportation in June is very busy, so we strongly recommend arranging transfers in advance rather than expecting to request a ride on demand.
Yes, taxis are available in Positano and throughout the Amalfi Coast, but they are limited and can be very busy during June, especially during peak travel times, dinner hours, and wedding/event weekends.
Guests should not assume they will always be able to get a taxi on demand the way they might in a larger U.S. city. For airport transfers, transportation between towns, dinner reservations, and wedding-related travel, we strongly recommend booking a private driver, hotel-arranged transfer, or taxi in advance whenever possible.
Positano is a very walkable town, but it is also built vertically into the hillside, which means there are many stairs, steep walkways, and winding roads. Many restaurants, shops, beaches, and hotels can be reached on foot, but walking may be challenging for anyone with mobility concerns or those not comfortable with stairs and hills.
Depending on where you are staying, you may want to use a local taxi, hotel shuttle, porter service for luggage, or pre-arranged transportation when needed. Guests should also allow extra time when walking through Positano, especially in June when the town is busy.
Where to Stay
We recommend staying in or near Positano so you are close to the wedding events. If walking or stairs are a concern, consider staying closer to the reception area or in a location with easier road access. Nearby cities include Sorrento, Praiano, Atrani, Amalfi, and Ravello. Please note staying outside Positano will require transportation to and from the wedding events, which can become costly.
Please visit the Stay page for hotel and villa recommendations. Because Positano is a very popular destination and accommodations book early, we recommend reserving your stay as soon as possible.
Yes, private villas and rentals can be a wonderful option, especially for families or groups traveling together. Positano has many beautiful rental properties, but location, stair access, luggage access, and distance to the main wedding areas are very important. Please visit the Stay page for recommended contacts and rental resources to help guide your search.
We recommend booking your accommodations as soon as possible. Positano is very busy in June, and hotels, villas, and rental properties can book far in advance, especially well-located properties with beautiful views or easier access.
Many hotels open reservations approximately 10 to 12 months before the travel dates, although booking windows vary by property. Some villas and Airbnb-style rentals may open earlier, while certain hotels may open later. If your preferred property is not available to book yet, we recommend checking directly with the hotel, villa owner, or rental contact and continuing to check back regularly.
Please do not wait too long to secure accommodations, especially if you want to stay close to the wedding events or need a location with fewer stairs or easier access.
Ceremony & Reception
The wedding ceremony will be held at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Positano.
As this is an active Catholic church, shoulders must be covered during the ceremony. Guests wearing sleeveless or strapless attire should plan to bring a shawl, wrap, jacket, or other shoulder covering.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 PM. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to ensure enough time to be seated before the ceremony begins.
The reception will follow at Villa Oliviero.
The wedding ceremony will be held indoors at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Please note that shoulders must be covered during Mass, so guests may want to bring a wrap, shawl, or jacket if their outfit is sleeveless or strapless.
The reception will be outdoors at Villa Oliviero, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Please continue to follow the wedding day dress code, which is Black Tie Alla Positano.
Yes. The celebration will continue after the reception at Music on the Rocks. The after party is completely optional and guests should join at their own desire.
Please note that the after party will begin after midnight, and guests will need to walk down from Villa Oliviero to the beach area level where Music on the Rocks is located.
We will do our best to accommodate transportation needs where possible; however, most wedding events in Positano will require some walking due to the nature of the town, the venues, and the surrounding streets. For elderly guests or anyone who may need accessible assistance, please reach out to Peggy so we can work with you directly and do our best to help make arrangements.
Please keep Positano’s terrain in mind. There are stairs, cobblestones, hills, and uneven walkways. Thicker heels, block heels, wedges, dressy flats, or supportive formal shoes are strongly recommended.
If you prefer wearing thin stilettos, we recommend carrying ballet flats or a similar comfortable option in your purse for walking to and from events.
Dietary Needs
Yes. Dinner and drinks will be served at the wedding reception.
Please list any dietary restrictions when you RSVP. We will share this information with the venue and catering team.
Gluten-free options may be available, but please keep in mind that food may be prepared in a shared kitchen space. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that gluten-free items will be safe for guests with Celiac disease or severe gluten allergies.
Unfortunately, specific meal requests will not be possible. We will do our best to communicate dietary restrictions to the venue, but meal accommodations may be limited.
Packing & Travel Essentials
A few simple steps before departure can help ensure a smooth trip:
- Verify that your passport will remain valid throughout your travels.
- Confirm your flight, hotel, ferry, and transfer reservations.
- Check your international phone plan and roaming options.
- Download WhatsApp, Google Maps, and Google Translate.
- Save screenshots of important reservations and travel documents.
- Order any travel adapters or dual-voltage styling tools before departure.
- Pack prescription medications in your carry-on luggage.
- Notify your bank if required by your financial institution.
- Make copies of important travel documents and keep them accessible.
Taking care of these details before departure allows you to focus on enjoying the Amalfi Coast once you arrive.
We recommend downloading the following before departure:
- Google Maps
- Google Translate
- Your airline app
- Your hotel app (if applicable)
- Your banking and credit card apps
For added convenience, download offline maps of Positano and the Amalfi Coast before you arrive.
Positano in June is warm, sunny, and very walkable. We recommend packing lightweight summer clothing, comfortable walking shoes, swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, a portable phone charger, a universal travel adapter, and any medications or everyday essentials you may need. Packing lighter than you think and choosing comfortable footwear will make exploring the Amalfi Coast much more enjoyable.
Guests who have visited Positano often recommend:
- Comfortable walking shoes with good grip
- Portable phone charger (power bank)
- Universal travel adapter
- Lightweight summer clothing
- Swimwear
- Sunglasses and a hat
- A light sweater or wrap for evenings
- Motion sickness medication if you plan to take ferries
- Travel-size stain remover pen
- Refillable water bottle
- Any prescription medications you may need during your trip
One of the best packing tips for Positano is to pack lighter than you think you’ll need. The town is beautiful, but navigating stairs, cobblestone walkways, and transfers is much easier with manageable luggage.
Yes.
June weather in Positano is typically warm and sunny, but evenings, ferry rides, boat excursions, and rooftop dinners can occasionally feel cooler than expected.
A lightweight sweater, wrap, or pashmina is always a good item to have with you.
Many hotels can assist with pressing or steaming garments, but availability and turnaround times may vary.
If your wedding attire, welcome party outfit, or pool party attire wrinkles easily, consider bringing a small dual-voltage travel steamer that is approved for international use.
Before packing any steamer, verify that it is clearly labeled 100–240V. Standard U.S.-only steamers should not be used in Italy.
Yes.
While pharmacies are readily available throughout Italy, medication names and brands may be different from what you’re familiar with in the United States.
We recommend packing a small travel medicine kit containing:
- Pain reliever
- Allergy medication
- Cold and flu medicine
- Antacids or stomach remedies
- Anti-diarrheal medication
- Motion sickness medication
- Band-Aids and blister pads
- Electrolyte packets
Please keep prescription medications in their original packaging and bring enough for your trip, plus a little extra in case of travel delays.
No.
Always keep prescription medications, medical devices, and other essential items in your carry-on luggage in case checked baggage is delayed.
We also recommend keeping prescription medications in their original labeled containers whenever possible and bringing enough medication for your trip, plus a few extra days in case of unexpected travel delays.
In most cases, we recommend leaving these devices at home.
Many premium styling tools purchased in the United States are designed specifically for the U.S. electrical system and are not intended to be used in Europe, even with a plug adapter. Using them in Italy may damage the device or prevent it from working properly.
If you absolutely plan to bring one, carefully verify that your specific model is clearly labeled 100–240V before traveling.
To avoid any issues, many travelers find it easier to use the hotel’s hair dryer or purchase a dual-voltage travel styling tool specifically designed for international use.
Italy uses a different electrical voltage than the United States. Most U.S. outlets are 120V, while Italy uses 230V. A plug adapter only changes the shape of the plug—it does not convert the voltage.
Before packing a hair dryer, curling iron, straightener, hot brush, steamer, or other heat-producing appliance, check the label on the tool or charging block. If it says 100–240V or 110–240V, it is dual-voltage and can generally be used in Italy with the proper plug adapter.
If it says 110V or 120V only, do not plug it into an Italian outlet, as it may damage the device or stop working altogether.
If you regularly use styling tools, consider purchasing dual-voltage travel versions before your trip.
Look for products clearly labeled:
- Dual-voltage travel hair dryer
- Dual-voltage curling iron
- Dual-voltage flat iron
- Dual-voltage travel steamer
Most hotels provide hair dryers, but the performance and quality may vary from property to property.
Italy commonly uses Type C, Type F, and Type L plugs.
A universal travel adapter is usually the easiest option and will work throughout Italy and much of Europe.
Keep in mind that an adapter changes the shape of the plug—it does not convert voltage.
Most modern electronics—including phones, tablets, laptops, cameras, portable chargers, and e-readers—are already dual-voltage and can be used throughout Italy with only a plug adapter.
Check the charging block or device label. If you see 100–240V, your device should work without issue.
Absolutely.
Between photos, maps, restaurant reservations, ferry tickets, WhatsApp messages, and travel apps, most guests find themselves using their phones much more than they do at home.
A compact portable power bank is one of the most useful items you can pack for the Amalfi Coast.
If you’re traveling with multiple devices, the answer is usually yes.
Many hotel rooms have fewer conveniently located outlets than guests are accustomed to in the United States. A universal adapter with multiple USB ports can be especially helpful for charging phones, watches, portable chargers, tablets, and other devices.
Positano Practical Tips
Expect a lot of walking, stairs, hills, and uneven pathways. It is part of Positano's charm, but it is something guests should plan for. Comfortable shoes and lighter luggage will make your trip much easier.
It can be. Many hotels and villas require walking or stairs to access. Porter services may be available, and some hotels can help arrange luggage assistance. Please visit the Stay page and review the Luggage & Porter Service section near the bottom for more information before booking.
Yes.
We recommend taking screenshots of:
- Hotel confirmations
- Ferry tickets
- Transfer confirmations
- Restaurant reservations
- Flight information
- Important addresses
Having these available even without internet service can make travel days much easier.
We recommend arriving at least 20–30 minutes before departure, especially during June when ferry traffic is at its busiest.
Allow additional time if you are traveling with luggage.
A few insider tips from experienced Amalfi Coast travelers:
- The stairs are real—and there are lots of them.
- Comfortable shoes are more important than you think.
- Porter services are worth every euro.
- Restaurant reservations book up well in advance.
- Cell service can occasionally be spotty on ferries.
- Sunset cocktails with a view are worth planning ahead for.
- Pack lighter than you think—you’ll likely be rolling or carrying your luggage at some point.
- Bringing a few everyday medications from home can save time and stress if you aren’t feeling your best.
Yes, it is a good idea to have some euros for taxis, tips, small shops, beach clubs, and local vendors. Credit cards are widely accepted, but not everywhere.
Credit cards are widely accepted in Positano at many hotels, restaurants, shops, and beach clubs, but it is still a good idea to carry some euros for taxis, tips, small purchases, local vendors, and places that may not accept cards.
Before you travel, please check whether your credit card charges foreign transaction fees. Some cards add an extra fee for international purchases, so it is best to confirm with your card issuer before departure.
Yes, but we strongly recommend contacting your cell phone provider before departure to confirm your international options, coverage, and pricing. International roaming charges can add up quickly if you do not have the correct plan in place.
Examples of common U.S. carrier options include Verizon TravelPass, AT&T International Day Pass, and T-Mobile international roaming benefits or passes. Pricing, coverage, plan eligibility, and data limits can change, so please check directly with your provider before you leave.
As current examples, Verizon TravelPass lists international service at $12 per line per day in 210+ countries and destinations, AT&T International Day Pass lists land-based international service at $12 per day in 210+ destinations, and T-Mobile states that certain qualifying plans include international roaming benefits in 215+ countries and destinations. Please confirm your exact plan before traveling.
Yes, it is a good idea to check with your cell phone provider before calling Italy from the United States. International calling rates may apply, and fees can vary depending on your phone plan.
Before placing international calls, you may want to use email, website chat, WhatsApp, or another messaging option when available. Many Italian hotels, transfer companies, restaurants, and vendors communicate through WhatsApp, which can be a helpful way to avoid unexpected international calling charges.
If you do need to call Italy directly, contact your phone provider before departure to confirm international calling rates, available add-ons, and whether calls to Italian numbers are included in your plan.
You do not need to be fluent in Italian to enjoy your trip. Positano is a popular destination, and many hotels, restaurants, drivers, and vendors speak English. That said, learning a few basic Italian phrases is always appreciated and can make your experience feel even more personal and fun.
Before the trip, we recommend practicing simple greetings, thank-yous, restaurant phrases, and travel questions. You can even use ChatGPT to practice common Italian phrases before you go.
Accessibility in Positano
Positano can be challenging for guests using wheelchairs or walkers because of the stairs, hills, narrow walkways, and uneven surfaces throughout town. However, Positano Luggage Service/Blu Trasporti Positano lists a free transport service for disabled and elderly guests between the main road and the Port of Positano.
This service should be arranged and confirmed directly in advance, especially for guests using a wheelchair or walker. Standard luggage porter service is separate and may involve a fee.
We strongly recommend contacting Positano Luggage Service/Blu Trasporti Positano before booking final plans to confirm availability, pickup details, and whether the service can accommodate the guest’s specific mobility needs.

For guests who may need wheelchair, walker, or elderly-accessible assistance, Hotel Savoia may be the best fit. Hotel Savoia is located on a central main road, which is important because the free transport service is described as running between the main road and the Port of Positano.
Hotel Savoia may make sense because it is on or near the main road, which should make pickup logistics easier. It is also more central than Le Agavi, less isolated, and avoids placing guests all the way down at the beach, which may be less convenient for getting to Villa Oliviero.
A second option may be Eden Roc, which is also located on the road in a central panoramic position. Eden Roc may work well if the guest is placed in the main hotel building near the elevator, not in an annex, detached suite, or area requiring stairs.
Before booking, guests should ask the hotel:
“Can a guest using a wheelchair or walker get from the room to the main road pickup point without stairs? Is there elevator access from the room to the lobby/exit, and can Positano Luggage Service/Blu Trasporti pick them up directly outside or very close to the hotel?”
Guests should also confirm directly with Positano Luggage Service/Blu Trasporti Positano that they will pick up from the exact hotel or main-road point and transport the guest to the pier. Their listed free service is specifically for disabled and elderly guests between the main road and the Port of Positano.
Possibly. Several specialist providers offer accessible-travel services and mobility-equipment rentals for Italy and the Amalfi Coast, and some can advise on options such as stair-climbing wheelchairs and assisted transport. Because Positano’s terrain is steep and stair-heavy, we recommend contacting these providers directly and well in advance to confirm availability, delivery to Positano, pricing, and whether they can accommodate the guest’s specific mobility needs.

Registry & Gifts
The Registry page will be updated in the near future with gift information.
No need to bring physical gifts to Positano. Traveling internationally with gifts can be difficult, so shipping or using the registry once available is preferred.
