Visit WebsiteLuggage & Porter Service
Navigating Positano with Luggage
Positano is a vertical town connected by stairs and steep walkways rather than flat streets. Many Positano hotels and villa hosts can help arrange porter service to bring luggage from the driver drop-off area, ferry port, or bus route to your hotel or rental.
We highly recommend using this service, especially for guests with large suitcases, as the terrain can be challenging. Typical porter pricing is often around €15–€25 per bag, depending on distance, luggage size, number of stairs, and exact location.
Guests should confirm pricing directly with their hotel, villa host, or porter before service begins.
Private Villas, Airbnbs & VRBOs
For larger groups or extended stays, private villas and residences throughout Positano can be an excellent option. We recommend booking early, as June is peak season along the Amalfi Coast.
Upper Positano
Closest to Villa Oliviero. Quieter atmosphere, panoramic views, and fewer crowds — often with many stairs.
Spiaggia Grande / Town Center
Closest to the Church. Most convenient for ferries, restaurants, beach clubs, and wedding transportation.
Fornillo
A slightly more relaxed beach area with boutique hotels and beautiful sunset views.

Walking in Positano
Positano is a vertical town built into the cliffside. Most of the town is connected by stairs and steep walkways rather than flat streets. Walking is the primary way to get around, and comfortable shoes are essential.
Local Buses & Taxis
A local bus runs along the main coastal road (Via Pasitea / Via G. Marconi) with stops throughout the upper and central parts of town. Taxis are also available, though limited, and should be booked in advance during peak season.
Getting to Wedding Events
- Church of Santa Maria Assunta — located in the heart of Positano near the beach. Most hotels are within walking distance.
- Villa Oliviero — the reception venue, accessible via elevator and walking paths or by short taxi/shuttle from various points in town.
