Getting to the Port from Napoli Centrale

Getting from Napoli Centrale train station to the Naples ferry ports, Molo Beverello or Calata Porta di Massa, is quick and easy. The distance is approximately 3 km. The easiest options are taxi, Metro Line 1, or the Alibus.

Taxi — Easiest

Official white taxis are available directly outside Napoli Centrale train station. Ask for the pre-fixed fare, called tariffa predeterminata, before departing.

Pricing is generally around €13–€16 including luggage, though guests should confirm the fare with the driver before departing.

Metro Line 1 — Budget-Friendly

From Napoli Centrale, head downstairs to Garibaldi Metro Station. Take Metro Line 1 toward Piscinola for 3 stops and get off at Municipio. From there, it is approximately a 5-minute walk to the ferry docks.

Tickets are usually around €1.30–€1.50 and can be purchased at station machines.

Alibus — Simple Shuttle Option

The Alibus stops outside Napoli Centrale and also serves the port area.

Tickets are generally around €5 and can usually be purchased on board or at authorized sellers.

However, during peak summer travel, buses can be crowded and schedules may be affected by traffic. For wedding-day timing or luggage-heavy travel, private transfers are still the most comfortable option.

Naples to Positano

Traveling from Naples to Positano by bus usually requires planning ahead and may involve connections depending on the route and season. Routes and schedules can vary, so check current timetables in advance, allow extra time, and confirm the correct departure point before travel.

Tickets may be available through the official bus provider, local ticket offices, authorized sellers, or transportation apps depending on the route and season.

This option is best for light travelers who are comfortable with local transportation and flexible timing.

Sorrento to Positano

The SITA bus from Sorrento to Positano is one of the most common public bus routes to the Amalfi Coast. It is scenic and affordable, but it can be very crowded in summer.

How to Buy Tickets

Tickets are usually purchased before boarding from authorized sellers such as tabacchi shops, newsstands, ticket offices, or through supported transportation apps. Validate your ticket once onboard if required.

The Unico Campania app may be useful for regional public transportation tickets.

Local Positano Buses

Positano has local Mobility Amalfi Coast buses that help connect areas within and around Positano, including town center, upper Positano, Montepertuso, Nocelle, Praiano, and local stops.

How to Buy Tickets

Tickets for Positano's local Mobility buses are typically purchased from local tabacchi shops, newsstands, bars, and other authorized ticket sellers throughout town. While regional SITA bus tickets may be available through the Unico Campania app, local Positano buses generally require a paper ticket purchased before boarding. Guests should confirm current ticketing options locally, as procedures can change seasonally.

If you're staying in Positano and only need to travel within town, purchasing a ticket from a nearby tabacchi shop is usually the easiest option. Many guests find walking, porter services, taxis, and private transfers more convenient when traveling with luggage.
